I had my birthday dinner at Bar Nouveau in April when they were just a pop up at Gracies. Very glad to see them move into that spot and I hope they stay as busy as they've been!
It feels so right in there and the food is like nothing else I've ever had in Portland. The puff pastry with mushrooms and kuri squash with a turine of mushroom sauce poured around it was unreal!
It reminds me in the best ways of the restaurants that made Portland great in the early 2000's, expressions of the creative people working there, not restaurant groups buying creatives
